This was a third project to reverse engineer a yacht from a marker cloud that was imported into MaxSurf modeler and a lines plan given as a .PNG file was also used with MaxSurf modeler to produce a 3D canoe body for the yacht. The hull form of the yacht was then exported to Wolfson's LPP to add the keel and rudders in preparation for Wolfson's VPP - WinDesign to find polar plots for the speed of the vessel.
A press boat was then designed to have a minimum maximum speed 7 kts faster than the yacht so that it could get into position. A systematic series was used to find the power requirements of the press boat. Appendage drag was calculated using Wolfson's Power Prediction Program then added to the total resistance of the vessel, this was done for speeds around cruising and maximum speed.  Wolfson's Propeller Designer was used to find the most efficient propeller possible with the engine selected, this was then used to find a real world propeller and a new efficiency could be found.
